In order to expedite the caissons construction, SATO decided to build two pontoons so that the ironwork for a new caisson could be made on them while still being built the previous one above the caisson dock. COTENAVAL developed the project of two pontoons with similar characteristics with name SATO PERDIGUERA y SATO ESPARTEÑA, planned to be join together to form a single pontoon with a unique dimension, which are the ones corresponding to the space between towers of the SATO LEVANTE caisson dock.
