    Based on three existing modular pontoons,it was realized the basic project for the construction and assembly of 4 towers that will provide buoyancy and stability while the caisson construction.
    Steel Project, stability calculations, and checking of the lightweight of three modular pontoons after the increase of breadth and length dimensions, allowing the construction of a bigger caissons.

    Technical advice and support.
    After detecting by the shipowner a loss of loading of the ship, due to various refurbishments and to the gain of weight and light weight of the vessel; but mainly to the increase in the weight of vehicles from the construction of the ship, the shipowner decided to study the possibility of increasing the maximum draught of vessel and thereby the carrying capacity of the same. COTENAVAL carry out this work within the technical advisory functions.

    In order to stablish new ferry routes to complement those that were working already, the Ship owner took over the vessel “Posidonia”. Our job as part of the technical advice consisted in the development and delivery of the requested technical documentation for the flag registration. Customer: Baleària
    To refloat some damaged and sunked concrete caissons because a rough weather at the Prats dock, in Barcelona, COTENAVAL devised a system composed of the pontoons Cyes PC-UNO y PC-TRES and PC-TRES and a serie of floaring system with winches and pulleys.

    Cotenaval has collaborated in the construction of these two ferries from the negotiation phase of the contract, advising on the definition of the same, until the supervision of the project during the construction phase, ensuring that they are built in accordance with the requirements of the specification, the construction contract, the project, international norms and standards, etc. The “Hypatia de Alexandria” was delivered in January 2019, and the delivery of the second vessel, named “Marie Curie”, is scheduled for the summer of 2019.     COTENAVAL,as the Technical consultancy of BALEARIA, has been the responsible of the Conceptual design as well as of the coordination of the agreement between BALEARIA and LaNaval for the new Ferry of BALEARIA.     After the adquisition of “Daniya”, in order to give a better service in the usual ferry rutes and, as a part of the technical advice that we give to the Ship-Owner, we were responsible of the diferent refurbishing and modifications needed on the vessel so that for a better adaptation to the different ports on the commercial route. Likewise, we made the coordination and also do the development and delivery of the requested technical documentation for the flag registration. Customer: Baleària

    Within the search of a better energy efficiency in its services, Balearia proposed to build a catamaran propelled just with solar energy, for the passengers transportation in the port of Denia, between the terminal, sited in “Moll de la Pansa” and the historic old town. COTENAVAL intervined from the beginning with the coordination of the job of that vessel and also the suitability for the use of it in the port of Denia.
    Due to operational needs, Petrogas Company, commissioned the construction of a new asphalt vessel to the shipyard Yangzou Ryuwa Shipbuilding, in China. Designed by Keonyang Ship Design & Eng., COTENAVAL reviewed the drawings and suggested amendments were recommended to the shipowner to suit the vessel’s needs. Follow-up surveis were conducted, as like as the necessary negotiations with the Administration for the vessel’s hoisted Spanish flag as “Herbania” since 2013.
    COTENAVAL performed the vessel stability in order to increase the maximum draft of the ship after detecting by the Ship owner the existing tendency of the increasing vehicle weight and cargo, being necessary to optimize the space and, increase the vessels capacity. Customer: Baleària
    On 2009 Petrogas Company purchased a chemical vessel from the Korean Samho Corporation Shipyard. COTENAVAL job consisted in the development and delivery of the requested technical documentation for the flag registration in Spain as Tinerfe. Also all the survey and reports were made to agree on the terms of purchase.
